All Talk: An 8-Hour Conversation About Playwriting

Siteworks, Brunswick, 2019

No keynotes, no experts, no agenda – just one very long open conversation about where we’re at, where we’re headed, and how we might build a stronger playwriting culture.

All Talk was conceived as a response to the crises in the Australian playwriting sector following the collapse of Playwriting Australia. The form attempts to break the form of the industry panel, and create an open space for the community to have a focussed conversation.

This free, self-funded event was organised by Mark Pritchard and Arie Rain Glorie as the Centre for Dramaturgy and Curation. The entire eight hours was audio-recorded, transcribed and edited as a record of the conversation that was had.

Mark Pritchard:

We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as traditional custodians, on whose unceded lands we work and live. We respectfully acknowledge elders – past, present and emerging. And we extend our deepest respects to all First Nations peoples. In the context of the work we do, we express gratitude for our shared connection through place, to the oldest continuing cultures on earth.
